Extreme Pizza

It’s important for restaurants to find their own niche so they may stand out amongst the rest. I believe Extreme Pizza, located at 250 Steele St. in Denver ,has done just that. Offering online ordering, delivery services for both pizza and beer, and boasting pizza names like “Adrenalin Rush” and “Poultry Geist,” Extreme Pizza gets my vote for most innovative and creative gluten free pizza experience in Denver.

Extreme Pizza offers a 12-inch gluten free crust manufactured by Still Riding Pizza Company. The crust is made and packaged in a separate location and then shipped to the store. Once there, the gluten free pizza is made in a separate area in the back of the kitchen to further avoid cross contamination.

Because of the amazing variety here, it was difficult to choose which pizza I wanted to try. I ended up choosing “Drag it Through the Garden” on gluten free crust. The base price for this pizza was $15.95. When the pizza was brought to me, I almost didn’t want to eat it…it honestly resembled food art (see picture below). The pizza was engulfed in toppings…fresh mushrooms, green peppers, red onions, artichoke hearts, broccoli, tomatoes, and fresh basil. I personally prefer cooked vegetables over raw, so if you’re like me in that regard, keep that in mind if ordering this particular pizza. However, despite my preference for cooked vegetables, the flavor of this pizza was amazing. The gluten free crust is a thin crust and has more of a corn taste to it. It is a little bit on the weaker side and tends to break easily, so that may be another reason to order a pizza with fewer toppings. However, overall, I was very impressed with the quality and size of this pizza.

As I mentioned above, I had a difficult time choosing which pizza I wanted to try. That’s because of the amazing variety of pizza options. With pizzas using hummus, black beans or even ginger peanut sauce, there is an option for everyone.

The gluten free crust has 140 calories per 1/8 of the crust This is on the lower end of calorie content considering most gluten free products are extremely calorie dense.

Extreme Pizza also offers a selection of salads, subs, calzones, and even take and bake on their regular pizzas. Wine and beer (both bottle and draft) are also available for purchase.

The staff at Extreme Pizza is very personable and polite. They work fast and provide excellent customer service.

There is ample parking behind the store, as well as plenty of street parking as well.

Extreme Pizza is the place to go if you are looking for bigger slices, bigger pizza, and better value. There are multiple locations throughout Colorado as well as other states. Check their website to find the location nearest you.
